Kate Turetsky, Ph.D., is a recent doctoral student at Columbia who worked with Dr. Valerie Purdie-Greenaway, and defended in 2019. Kate earned her B.A. in Psychology and Studio Art from Amherst College in 2012, and spent the following year as a fellow in a neuropsychology lab at the National Institute of Mental Health. She is broadly interested in social inequality, group identity, intergroup relations, and stigma, with a particular focus on studying these topics through theory-driven intervention research in order to understand and address social problems.
