Area of Research
I have a broad interest in understanding how visual information is processed in the brain and how that process gives rise to visual perception. My PhD research was focused on spontaneous patterns of activity in the visual cortex and how they might represent the functional architecture available for information processing. During my postdoctoral research I investigated how expectation affects the stimulus selectivity of neurons in early visual areas. My current and more specific interest is in the top-down effects on visual perception and other sensory modalities.
